Artist Statement
In 2005, after 20 years of traditional photography, I put aside my analog Nikons and tripods and began the move into the world of digital cameras, a digital studio/darkroom, and now, an iPad is my main camera.
Today, I am an experimental artist and an alternative photographer. Using original photographic images from my vast inventory I create digital photographic art.
Because I spent many years making photographs in fields and swamps, on mountainsides and beaches, hiking in old growth forests and driving my Jeep to find roadside views, the original subjects of the majority of my finished prints are nature-related. I use these photographs as the starting point for a digital transformation that evolves into my re-imagined archival art prints.
